In 2015, CSA Group in the UK moved its ‘hazardous location’ operation to a new location in North Wales. With 27,000 square feet of certification offices and laboratories, our custom-built facility underpins our continuous investment to provide world-class services and capabilities to our clients around the globe.

Our investment in lab facilities brings:

A temperature-controlled environment, to allow for a more stable setting for testing

Dedicated analyser lab, controlling test cells for explosion and flame transmission testing

A significant increase in dedicated test areas, to include break flash testing, temperature rise, battery testing and other electrical tests, allowing greater capacity for test scheduling Lab space for testing of equipment to 61010 requirements

A devoted chamber room, for thermal endurance testing (chamber ranges of -72°C to +200°C), doubling our capacity, with automated recording of measurement data

Indoor Ingress Protection (IP) room, providing a controlled environment for testing, and facility to recycle water used

Two temperature rise rooms (up to 50°C) giving our clients the ability to record accurate temperature measurements to achieve desired T-classes

A Lab for testing of gas detectors for use in domestic and industrial environments, including hazardous locations

Calibration of equipment used to calibrate Vehicle Exhaust Gas Analysers (VEGA) and Diesel Smoke Meters (DSM)
