CSA Group Warns of Unauthorized CSA Group Certification Marks on Doble Engineering Company’s Sweep Frequency Analyzer and Power System Test Simulator products.

October 30, 2020

CSA Group, a global provider of testing, inspection and certification services and a standards development organization, notifies members of the public of unauthorized use of CSA Group Certification Marks on certain products manufactured by Doble Engineering Company.

Certain Doble Engineering Company Sweep Frequency Analyzer models and Power System Test Simulator models with identification labels bearing unauthorized CSA Group certification marks were sold in physical and online marketplaces.

CSA Group’s certification of all Doble Engineering products was cancelled by Doble in May of 2008. As a result, the Doble Engineering Company products described in this Warning were not tested, inspected or certified by CSA Group to the applicable standards after that date.

As of the date of this Warning, Doble Engineering Company has made no report to CSA Group of personal injury or property damage with respect to the affected products.

Consumers and industrial users who wish to verify with CSA Group the authenticity of certified products are encouraged to visit CSA Group’s certified product listing.

Doble Engineering Company has agreed to provide notice to its customers (of the affected products) of the unauthorized use of CSA Group Certification Marks in accordance with the template below:

Dear _______,

Product safety and environmental certifications are important to Doble. Doble recently became aware that the serial number labels of certain production units may have incorrectly contained a certification mark from the Canadian Standards Association (“CSA”).  This certification mark was an artifact of Doble’s label printing system and was not authorized to be displayed on the units by CSA.  An example of the label appears below:

The affected units are:

(1)    M5300 and F6150 units manufactured between May 1, 2008 and August 31, 2009.

(2)    F6150 (03D-1326) units manufactured between July 1, 2015 and January 31, 2017.

(3)    F6150 units manufactured between June 1, 2017 and June 30, 2020.

Our records indicate you may have received one of these affected units. Doble is tracking these units and will replace the serial number label on your unit when it is returned for calibration or other service.  The replacement label will not include the CSA mark.
