CSA Group Warns of DC Motors Displaying Counterfeit CSA Group Certification Mark

Toronto,

CSA Group, a leading global provider of product testing and certification services and standards development, is notifying consumers and retailers that certain brand DC Motors display counterfeit CSA Group Canadian certification marks.

The affected units with model number Model DC 41N have not been tested and evaluated by CSA Group to the applicable standard for safety and performance for Canada and may present a risk to shock, burn and/or catch fire. All affected units have a label bearing the name MLD and were exported by Ningbo Jiangbei Huaya Import & Export Co., Ltd. There have been no reports of damage, fire or injury. The identified units were sold by Maple Leaf Drives Ltd. in the Canadian market.

Consumers with the affected models are advised to immediately discontinue use of the product and to contact their retailer, point-of-sale or the distributor.
