Health Canada (RA-68202)

This recall involves cordless battery operated chain saws with a white casing, orange and white sides, and a black top handle with an orange trigger. “STIHL MSA 161T” is printed on the orange side. The serial number can be found on a label inside the battery compartment and ranges from 438089138 to 439360915.

Hazard identified: The side inter-lock button may stick when gripping the machine, which could cause the throttle trigger to remain depressed and the chain to continue to run even after releasing the throttle trigger. This can pose a risk of laceration to the user or bystander.

As of October 12, 2018, STIHL Limited has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these chain saws.
