CSA Group has been working to develop standards related to nuclear power generation for more than 45 years. With more than 64 standards in use and in development, we work with stakeholders including regulators, utilities, vendors, and academics to develop new standards that touch on emerging subjects and maintain standards that support safe and reliable nuclear operations.

Many of our consensus-based standards are integrated into the national regulatory framework, referenced in regulatory documents, licenses and compliance handbooks for nuclear facilities across Canada.

Standards in our portfolio represent the pool of knowledge and expertise of the nuclear industry, offering robust technical standards and best practice guidelines. We provide a comprehensive suite of standards that cover a wide variety of subjects such as integrated management systems, pressure boundary components, reactor control, seismic design, security, environmental and waste management, emergency preparedness and more. These standards help promote consistency of practice and interpretation of requirements while supporting Canada’s leadership in safety and excellence.
