Overview

Approved Health & Safety Training

Approved training courses have been established to ensure that personnel undertaking stack-emission monitoring are aware of the inherent hazards and risks associated with the job.

Attendance on an approved training course is a mandatory requirement. The course shall be repeated every five years. It is strongly recommended that trainees attend such a course as soon as possible.

The scheme recognises organisations that offer approved training courses that cover hazard identification and risk assessment relating to stack-emission monitoring. Courses cover (as a minimum) the health and safety section of Environment Agency Technical Guidance Note M1.

The approved training providers are:

  • Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC)
  • Northern Environmental & Monitoring Services (n-e-m-s)
  • CSA Group Testing UK Ltd
  • Source Testing Association (STA)
  • More details of approved training providers are available by contacting CSA Group.
