CSA Group Facilities In United Kingdom And Germany Granted Accreditation By Standards Council Of Canada

CSA Group, a leading global provider of product certification and testing services, today announced the expansion of its ISO/IEC Guide 65 accreditation (General Requirements for Bodies Operating Product Certification Systems)  to include three of its European facilities by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC). The facilities, located in Chester and Bakewell, United Kingdom, and Strasskirchen, Germany, have been accredited by the SCC to provide certification in the areas of electrical safety, medical, power tools and equipment for use in hazardous locations.

This accreditation makes the CSA Group facilities the first in the UK and globally to be able to issue ATEX, IECEx, and North American Certification from a single office for regional and global clients. It also enables the Strasskirchen facility in Germany to serve its customers locally and issue CSA certifications for Canada, with North American accreditation anticipated in the near future.  In both Germany and the UK it allows CSA Group to provide customers with faster and more efficient testing and certification services locally and globally.

“Accreditation by the SCC is a mark of competence and reliability recognized throughout the world,” says Magali Depras, CSA Group’s Vice President for Europe. “We are pleased to be able to add this certification capability at our facilities, and offer our European and global customers faster, more efficient certification along with the confidence of knowing their products are being tested locally to the highest standards for global markets.”

In addition to the above services, the testing facility in Strasskirchen, Germany, offers testing in the areas of automotive, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), environmental, IT, audio/video, power tools, home appliance products as well as hybrid and e-vehicles. CSA Group is planning to expand its facilities in the UK and Germany over the next year in order to meet the growing needs of customers both in Europe and around the world. CSA Group also has branch offices in Italy and The Netherlands, testing facilities for medical devices in Switzerland, and employs more than 260 experts across Europe.
