We interact with and benefit from standards every day, from the buildings we occupy, the technology that we use, the hospitals we visit, and the safety equipment we wear at work and in sport.
A strong understanding of standards, including what they are, how to find them, and how and when to use them is a fundamental component of higher education. Whether the focus is in health care, engineering, environmental studies or the social sciences, foundational knowledge in standards will help students work safer, follow best practices, and comply with legal requirements where standards are incorporated by reference in regulation.
