CSA Group, a leading provider of standards development, training and advisory solutions, global product testing and certification, and product performance evaluation, today announces it is applying the Canadian Society for Training and Development (CSTD) Competencies for Training and Development Professionals as the standards of practice for CSA Group’s workplace learning and development professionals.

The Competencies for Training and Development Professionals will serve as an excellent benchmark for our professional training staff to better assess their performance and to identify specific opportunities to strengthen skills and ensure quality service to our clients.”

The Canadian Society for Training and Development (CSTD) developed the competencies to provide a framework for the design and development of curricula and courses in workplace training and development. The competencies are divided into five categories: Assessing performance needs, designing training, facilitating training, supporting the transfer of learning, and evaluating training. It serves as a model and reference standard of practice that organizations adhere to for all those who work in training and development across an organization.
