Health Canada Recall RA-75165

This voluntary recall is for the Dettson Hydra Revolution Electric Boiler, an electric hot water boiler used in homes. Only the 24 kW, 27 kW and 29 kW models are affected by this recall. The model number can be found on the nameplate on the right hand side of the unit. The following model numbers are affected by the recall:

HYDRAR24-E2401MB
HYDRAR27-E2401MA
HYDRAR29-E2401MA

Hazard identified: If the unit is improperly connected, a malfunction of the power board may cause a short-circuit, thus posing a fire hazard.

As of March 18, 2021, the company has received one report of fire causing damage in the immediate area of the boiler, and two reports indicating no damage. The company has received no reports of injuries.

Number sold: The company reported that 1130 units of the affected product were sold in Canada.

Time period sold: The affected products were sold from July 2013 to November 2017.
