The EU2200i generator has a black front cover and black metal frame. The words “HONDA” in white lettering and model number “EU2200i” in red lettering with a white outline are printed on the front of the generator (black control panel).

The EB2200i generator has a black front cover and black metal frame. The words “HONDA” in white lettering and model number “EB2200i” in white lettering with a red outline are printed on the front of the generator (black control panel).

The following serial numbers and date code ranges are being recalled: (Model/ Serial #/ Date code)

EU2200i / EAMT1102906 – 2098178/ 10/31/2017 to 11/10/2019
EB2200i / EAJT1008415 – 1011222/ 10/31/2017 to 11/10/2019

Hazard identified: If exposed to salt water, salt water may enter the area of the AC output connector inside the generator, posing a fire hazard.

As of January 31, 2020, Honda Canada has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Number sold: Approximately 24,508 units of the affected product were sold in Canada.

Time period sold: The affected products were sold from October 2017 to November 2019.
