This recall involves the Propane Fired Outdoor Gas Fire Pit manufactured by Wujiang Gaorui Garden Metalwork Co. Ltd. The fire pits have been sold with a cradle that supports a 20 lb propane cylinder on its side (horizontal position). The model numbers involved in the recall are WBT Series and WBRT Series.

When a propane cylinder is positioned on its side (horizontal position), a significant amount of propane may be released posing fire and explosion hazards, which may result in injuries and property damage. Additionally, when a propane cylinder is positioned horizontally, propane in the liquid state may accumulate in the cylinder’s shutoff valve assembly and in adjoining components. During the disconnection of the cylinder, this liquid propane can cause burns to exposed skin.

Health Canada has received one report of a consumer incident with injury related to the use of these products in Canada. Protégé Causal has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these products in Canada.
