This recall involves certain models of Porter-Cable hammer drills and Black & Decker Drill/Drivers sold in Canada. The products are sold with a black side handle that attaches to the front of the drill.

Hazard identified: The side handle supplied with the drill may slip when the drill is in use and lead to loss of control, posing a risk of injury.

As of October 23, 2018 the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. In the United States, the company has received 1 report of injury.

Number sold: Approximately 18,194 units of the Porter-Cable-brand and Black & Decker-brand products were sold in Canada.

Time period sold: The recalled products were sold from January 2010 to July 2018 in Canada and the United States.
