CSA Group Becomes an Accredited Certification Body to Support Transport Canada’s Electronic Logging Device (ELD) Certification Program

Certification is Now Available to Help ELD Manufacturers Meet Government Requirements

CSA Group has announced accreditation through the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) for the Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) program, allowing manufacturers to apply to CSA Group to obtain certification for their ELD products. Effective June 12, 2021, manufacturers of ELDs will need to meet the requirements of the Technical Standard for Electronic Logging Devices v1.2 as published by the Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators (CCMTA).

The standard requires ELDs utilized in Canada to be tested and certified by a SCC accredited Certification Body, such as CSA Group.

This new program will offer certification of ELDs regardless of the manufacturer’s country of origin.

“CSA Group is proud to support Transport Canada’s Electronic Logging Device (ELD) certification program,” says Gianluca Arcari, Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer at CSA Group. “Recognition of CSA Group as an accredited certification body broadens the options available to ELD manufacturers and suppliers seeking testing and certification, further contributing to the successful rollout of this important public safety initiative.”
