South American countries and Mexico have different requirements when it comes to allowing international manufacturers to access their respective markets. Products must adhere to stringent testing and certification processes to meet the minimum safety and energy efficiency requirements.

CSA Group is accredited by the Mexican Accreditation Entity (EMA) to operate as a Certification Body (CB) to serve five countries in Latin America: Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Panama, and Peru. The accreditation scope covers Energy Efficiency Verification of refrigerators and freezers, air conditioners, and washing machines.

Efficient certification process
Our CB accreditation for Latin America leverages our existing global laboratory infrastructure, allowing customers to test locally and use our international test laboratories in Asia (Seoul and Guangzhou) and North America (Toronto). Alternatively, customers can test through our Witnessed Manufacturer’s Testing for Certification (WMTC) and Supervised Manufacturer’s Testing for Certification (SMTC) programs when permitted. Access to global laboratory infrastructure eliminates duplicate certification activities, making the certification process more efficient and helping our customers to get their products to market faster.
